New year, new us. We're all working on our *fitness* and trying to get in shape (for MBAT). Go, team! For those of you that don't know, the MBAT, or the MBA Tournament brings together business schools from across Europe for a weekend competition. To say the least, I am really looking forward to this experience in May!
So, I got in a quick lil workout on Monday night before our first Lent term mid-table dining with the Fellows. Dining with the Fellows is always an interesting experience. For example, the Fellow at our table has been at Queens' for 56 years! He's seen Queens' go through lots of growth and change. He shared some fun stories from back when Old Hall was the only dining hall, I think it's always lovely to hear the personal stories and connections that people have with different places. Forever grateful for the Queens' MBA crew - a solid bunch.
Tuesday started with our Strategy class, in preparation we had to read a case about the famed cronut. Apparently, Cambridge has a 'famous' cruffin and our professor brought one into class for us to taste test. Brandon, Rebecca, and I answered the trivia correctly, so we got to try the cruffin. Underwhelming - like a croissant mixed with a palmier in my opinion.
Tuesday ended with a visit to Tall Trees and 50% off a new restaurant near the business school.
Thursday afternoon included a site visit with Jimmy to a potential May Ball venue...I think we found the spot for the Judge May Ball! Very excited for this one :) [There's a location hint in this blog post]
Friday night meant date night with my fave bletzeis. Felt like life before school with cocktails and a real restaurant.
The weekend was filled with some essay writing, chores, a museum visit with Brandon, a college bar crawl (Tommy and his drinking buddy), and the first volleyball practice for the MBAT!
Ending the weekend with some FaceTime time with friends from back home. I have been oddly homesick this week, so it's comforting to see familiar faces and catch up on their lives.
Overall, a relatively quiet week. It almost feels like the group collectively is in a slump? Maybe I'm projecting?
To close this bland blog post, I leave you the bells at King's College at midnight!
