Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.

This week marked the official end of classes! yay!

We all look a little ragged at this point and I am definitely feeling the end-of-term blues.

To fight this, a nice group of ladies gathered for dinner on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, there was a talent show in Judge. We have some very talented people in our class - lovely voices all around. Emily and I showed up to Judge accidentally matching in all-black with leather. We died of laughter and had a few classmates ask if it was a planned occurrence for the talent show!

That night, the space crew went to London for a space industry night - I even ran into some SGAC friends, which was so lovely!

Thursday was the last official day of class and also Thanksgiving! I'm not going to say Stream 2 is the best, but it's not not true...

Taylor and Ian planned a beautiful Thanksgiving meal for the Americans et al at their neighborhood pub. This was my first Thanksgiving spent away from family. Turkey day is a big one for the Dubberts. I realize how lucky I am - that I have consistently had a family to spend Thanksgiving with, and also that I have the opportunity to be here with a newly formed family in Cambridge.  The food was great, but the company was better. This will always be a memorable Thanksgiving for me.

I finished essay 2 of 4 on Friday, I am trying reallllly hard to not have to do school work over winter break. Friday also marked the USA-England football match, a few of us gathered to watch the nil-nil match, which is apparently a good thing? Still figuring out that sport.

Saturday was the most exciting day...Jess and Patch came to Cambridge! My first visitors to town! If you can't tell, my heart is still full. I did my best to be a proper tour guide and showcase all Cambridge has to offer. We walked a lot, as one does in the town, enjoyed a pub or two, and did lots of sightseeing. A wonderful pick me up before the final crunch. You can't make old friends, and I've known this gal for 26 years, very grateful.

The night ended with a Super Formal at Peterhouse College, the oldest of all the colleges in Cambridge. The Christmas tree was on and the dining hall was magical. We love an excuse to dress up and take pics.

Train strikes on Sunday kept me from going to London to hang out some more with Jess and Patch. I'm still bummed about that, but I was able to knock out half of essay #3, so there's a silver lining. The day ended with a lovely Advent service in the Queens' Chapel, Thomas and I got into the Christmas spirit by attending and belting out the Christmas Carols.

When I was talking with my parents this week, my mom said that she thinks I'm having more fun in this MBA program than I did the whole of undergrad. She's not wrong. Part of it is you can't really compare the rigors of an engineering program to that of an MBA (no shade). But the bigger part of it is, I'm comfortable with who I am this time around. I do not even blush that much anymore, which is some growth I never thought would happen.

It's been nice to reflect this week, there are a lot of things to be grateful for. It's not lost on me how blessed I am to get this experience, and I'm incredibly thankful for everyone who's helping me survive this year.

Three weeks left of Michaelmas term; 4 finals, 3 balls, 2 essays, and 1 presentation are all that stand between me and a break.

Cheers to that!
