Lent Bumps
This marked finals week for Lent Term. Hilarious to see how differently we all approached finals this time around in comparison to Michaelmas. We had a strategy exam and a marketing exam at the end of the week.
For example, I went to a formal at Peterhouse on Monday night and didn't get home till almost 3am. That's not typical finals week behaviour (yes, I have gone full British, I include extra 'u's in my vocabulary now).
Tuesday brought another formal, this time at Sidney Sussex with a magical twist! Had the chance to meet the cutest little owl and nerd out with some fellow MBAs!
I spent the whole day at Queens' on Wednesday. I introduced Rebecca to my secret study spot and we spent a good chunk of the day finishing up exam prep. We also worked out together and went to an economics talk too #teamjunction.
Thursday brought our Strategy Exam. It was in the afternoon, and I have to tell you, I do not enjoy afternoon exams. Let me get that ish over with. Met up with Maddy and Thomas for some delicious Chinese food before going to the final debate of Lent...This House Believes That the Time for Radical Change is Now. The proposition won this debate. I think my goal for Easter Term will be to attend more debates. As an American, there's something really beautiful about watching people civilly debate contentious topics.
Friday brought a group Queens' lunch before our Marketing Exam and once it was done, we were FREE! After the exam, pints were shared, and some of us returned to the Union to listen to Beto O'Rourke speak. After that, we headed to Jesus Bar for St. Paddy's Day, but more importantly for Paula's birthday!!! Somehow everyone thinks it's ~hilarious~ to hook'em all the dang time. If only they knew they were cheering for the wrong school. Gig'em forever. :)
Saturday was a chill morning. It's so weird to have nothing to do. So weird. That afternoon, our lovely sports chairs planned a pre-MBAT match against Oxford and I got to participate in the volleyball game. When I say I had fun, it's an understatement. I was on a high for hours after we BTHO oxford. I walked away from the game wondering if this libero was really supposed to be a setter? So excited to play in Paris in a few months, MBAT is gonna be a blast!
That evening we got to celebrate another classmate's birthday! Sweet bb Karl's birthday bash.
I Slept in today and had to get some food to survive. Walked around Cambridge and just soaked in this place. We're technically halfway through the program but we're all going to part ways in June and that makes me really sad. Lent brought so many new relationships with it, and I am so grateful. I still remember one alum that I talked to shared that Lent was where some of his strongest friendship grew and I have to agree. I'm definitely going to miss everyone while we part ways for the next few weeks as we do our respective Global Consulting Projects.
Sunday ended with a lot of belly laughs...an impromptu game night at Queens' was just what the doctor ordered.
Next up on the Cambridge MBA: Global Consulting Project
Here's the IG Lent slideshow for posterity.
