The Calm Before the Storm
Before classes started, I had the chance to go to Paris for the 20th Space Generation Congress (SGC). Being a part of the Space Generation Advisory Council has been a highlight over the past few years - I have made wonderful friends from across the world and learned more about the space industry globally. What more could a gal ask for?
The best part was getting to catch up with a fellow Emerge(r) from NASA...we even (unplanned) both wore the same outfit from SGC 2019 :)
2019
2022
After SGC, it was time for orientation and the start of Michaelmas Term! We ended up starting a day late, as Monday was a bank holiday for the Queen's funeral, which I fittingly watched from Queens' College.
The first day of school was packed - we started off with a group picture, and then spent the rest of the day in lectures. It's been a while since my brain has had to do that, and I was definitely tired by the end.
Can you spot me?
Everyone that I have met is extraordinary. Every. Single. Person. It's an amazing cohort this year and I am pumped to learn from their experiences.
Some highlights from the week:
- Seeing kilt...pants?
- Visiting the Cambridge Union (and learning that the consulting and finance industries are not in my future)
- Getting 2nd Place in the Scavenger Hunt - go Team Guardians of the Galaxy!
- Attending an improv show - "The Asteroid and the Tentacle". Any guesses on why I went?
- Planning a walking tour of Cambridge for the class. Once a Cruise Director, always a Cruise Director. IYKYK.
- Snapping some quintessentially British shots.
